About FunPower Events
FunPower Events started in August 2019 with one character, Tinka the Pink Fairy, and one backyard party. Here's how a single costume turned into the Bay Area's go-to party crew.
How It All Started
It started in August 2019, seven years ago now, with one character, Tinka the Pink Fairy, and one backyard party. Before any of this, Valentyna was studying psychology and raising two young kids of her own. She kept running into the same problem most Bay Area parents do: party options that were either overpriced, forgettable, or both. Someone in a costume for twenty minutes, a few photos, gone.
So she put together the first character herself and brought her to a backyard birthday party. No launch, no marketing plan. Just one event, and a kid who wouldn't stop talking about it for a week.
That was more or less the whole business model: make it good enough that people tell their friends.
Word got around, and Tinka needed backup. Valentyna started bringing on entertainers who actually liked working with kids, not just people who liked wearing a costume. Seven years later, that's grown into a full team running six kinds of events, with 3,000+ parties booked and 40,000+ kids who've met a character, dodged a foam cannon, or taken a laser tag hit in their own backyard.
